This saying was my inspiration. Starting as a quick sketch watching my husband sleep in his chair. The body seemed a landscape. When questions like “Where do we go in dreams?” started to turn. Is it further inside or outside of the physical world? Playing in my mind the idea of what is our true form, how heavy the body feels tethered to the ground. While the mind is drifting to sleep, are we between worlds? The pattern on the balloon is symbolic of the mind as an alpha wave. Not asleep and not awake. Riding the water in a canyon between two worlds we are hiding behind and within ourselves.
